Utility and Special Glass

The utility and special glass industry (including special hollow glass finishing) closed 2025 with decline in total revenue of 11.6 percent to EUR 1.61 billion (2024: EUR 1.82 billion). Domestic revenue fell by 15.4 percent to EUR 659 million (2024: EUR 779 million). There was also 8.7 percent decline in foreign revenue, which decreased to EUR 954 million (2024: EUR 1.05 billion).

The export quota stood at 73.2 percent in 2025 (2024: 69.0 percent). The export value of the utility and special glass industry increased by 4.1 percent to EUR 1.80 billion (2024: EUR 1.73 billion).

The import quota rose to 69.8 percent (2024: 61.9 percent). The value of imports, at EUR 1.53 million, is 20.7 percent higher than in the previous year (2024: EUR 1.26 billion). The value of imports was lower than the value of exports, resulting in an export surplus in the trade balance of EUR 279 million (2024: EUR 469 million). The surplus was therefore significantly lower than in the previous year (minus 40.5 percent).
