The flat glass manufacturers experienced a downturn in revenue in 2025 of 5.3 percent to EUR 1.04 billion (2024: EUR 1.09 billion). This development was driven to a significant extent by foreign revenue, which declined by 16.3 percent to EUR 543 million (2024: EUR 649 million). Domestic revenue, by contrast, showed a clearly positive development, increasing by 11.3 percent to EUR 494 million (2024: EUR 444 million).
The export quota declined in the year under review to 58.7 percent (2024: 67.2 percent). The value of exported goods was EUR 701 million, which is 5.9 percent lower than the figure reported for the previous year of EUR 745 million.
In 2025 the import quota increased to 24.8 percent (2024: 23.7 percent). The value of imported goods was EUR 163 million (2024: EUR 138 million), which represents a significant increase of 18.2 percent. The export surplus in 2025 was EUR 538 million, which is down 11.4 percent compared to 2024 (EUR 607 million).
