The container glass industry closed out 2024 with a significant 14.2 percent drop in revenue to EUR 2.59 million (2023: EUR 3.02 million). Both domestic and foreign revenue shrank. Domestic revenue fell by 12.1 percent to EUR 1.80 billion (2023: EUR 2.05 million) and foreign revenue by 18.5 percent to EUR 789 million (2023: EUR 969 million).

The export quota declined to 45.3 percent in 2024 (2023: 45.7 percent). The export value also fell by13.7 percent to EUR 1.49 billion (2023: EUR 1.73 billion).

In 2024 the import quota was 23.8 percent (2023: 22.7 percent). The value of imported goods stood at EUR 561 million, which is 6.7 percent below the previous year’s figure (2023: EUR 602 million). The foreign trade balance showed an export surplus of EUR 928 million (2023: EUR 1.12 million), corresponding to a 17.4 percent year-over-year decline.
