The LOHAS (Lifestyle of Health and Sustainability) consumers - a glass conscious target group:
More and more consumers are demanding foods with authentic flavours that offer a genuine sensory experience. The number of environmentally aware and health conscious consumers is also on the increase. Experts call these consumers LOHAS (Lifestyle of Health and Sustainability). A survey by marketing and retail expert Professor Claudius A. Schmitz from the Gelsenkirchen Technical University revealed that 20 percent of all consumers in Germany will be LOHAS consumers by around 2010. Glass is always the first choice packaging for LOHAS consumers because it ideally unites properties such as flavour and odour neutrality, purity and environmental sustainability with lifestyle appeal.
