Power generation with the help of receivers
Solar thermal power plants convert solar energy into heat which is then used to generate electric power. Receivers are key components in this advanced method of electricity generation and they are used at parabolic trough power plants. Parabolic trough power plants have a giant field of mirrors with a parabolic cross section which focus the solar radiation on a receiver (an absorber tube) with a heat-conducting fluid inside. The outer shell of the receiver is made of high-quality special glass which enables the conversion of the concentrated solar radiation into heat.
