Thin-film PV modules on the basis of amorphous silicone are an innovative solution for environmentally friendly power generation. Thanks to their outstanding versatility of shape and design, the modules are easy to integrate in building architecture and are often installed on window, roof and facade glazing. Relatively small quantities of silicon are required for the modules, which helps to conserve this valuable resource. In another process, copper, iridium and/or selenium film is used (thin-film CIS photovoltaics).
