Examples of applications for glass in the home and at restaurants are drinking glasses, vases and aquariums. Another application is the glass ceramic cooktops that are found on electric cookers. Ceramic glass has a far higher tolerance of temperature differences than conventional cooktop material. Hardened ceramic glass can withstand temperature differences of up to 800 degrees Celsius thanks to special additives and the right ratio of raw materials used to make the glass.
