After their delivery, the raw materials used to make glass are stored in silos in the batch house. From the silos, they are weighed out in the correct proportions for the product being made into a batch. The batch is then put into mixers where it is mixed as evenly as possible before being transported by conveyor belt or in vats to the furnace and fed into the furnace via inserting machines.
